From his studio in New Zealand's South Island, artist Blair Greig captures the rugged serenity of the region's wild landscapes. Whether depicting misty forests and tranquil waterways under brooding skies, or the dazzling light of a clear afternoon, his compositions are filled with detail and atmosphere.

Working with the highest quality archival materials he controls the creative process from the beginning by hand stretching linen canvas, often sanding the surface between multiple coats of primer before starting to apply the oil colour. Through countless layers of paint the surface is gradually formed into artwork that captures the pristine beauty of his subjects, resulting in canvases that are panoramic, majestic, and richly coloured.
